Apis mellifica

Apis mellifica is one of the principal remedies in classical homeopathy associated with swelling, edema, redness, burning, and stinging pains. Complaints often resemble the effects of a bee sting, with marked swelling, tenderness, and heat in the affected area. Improvement from cold applications and aggravation from heat are among its most characteristic features.

Usage notes

Homeopathic remedy selection is based on symptoms. To consider a remedy, the individual's current complaints, symptoms, and overall symptom picture should be evaluated as a whole.

In classical homeopathy, remedies are not routinely used solely to prevent disease or for possible future conditions. Remedy selection is based on the symptoms that are present and the individual's unique symptom picture.

For this reason, each remedy should be considered according to its characteristic and distinguishing symptoms.
