Aromatherapy and Its Safe Use in Children
Children’s skin, respiratory system, and metabolism differ from those of adults. Aromatherapy use in children therefore requires age-appropriate oil selection, very low dilution levels, short application periods, and careful observation. The fact that an essential oil is “natural” does not automatically make it safe for children. Each oil has a different botanical species, chemical profile, and set of safety limitations.
